A film crew is a group of people hired by a production company for the purpose of producing a film or motion picture. Crew are distinguished from cast, the actors who appear in front of the camera or provide voices for characters in the film. Crew are also separate from producers, those who own a portion of either the film company or the film's intellectual property rights. Go to college, and if possible start working on a degree in film. At first your classes will be broad, and you can figure out what aspects of film you truly enjoy doing and narrow down your schooling from there. Going to college for it is also going to give you some great starting connections, as you will be meeting people more closely tied to the film industry through the classes you take. The film industry is all about connections, so meeting these people through these classes is your best bet for breaking in to the industry in whatever field you choose.
