How do I connect a new computer to the Internet?
Q. I recently got a new computer but (not knowing much about networks) don't know how to connect it to the Internet. My house currently has a wireless router and a different computer plugged into it, with several laptops using the wireless connection. How can I hook up my new computer to this? Do I have to physically connect it to the router (it has a LAN card but is in a different room from the other computer) or is there a way I can connect wirelessly? Which would give me a faster connection? Thanks in advance for your help.

When does a baby start sleeping with a pillow?
Q. I know this is a weird thing to think about and I know my little one is still too little (8 months) but I was wondering when do you let your child start sleeping with a pillow? Is it when they are ready for a toddler bed? I have no idea and my mother couldn't remember.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a tarp instead of a tent for camping?
Q. My dad and I go backpacking a lot and while we were hiking a section of the Pacific Crest Trail we met some other hikers who were using a tarp for a shelter, instead of the usual tent. Using a tarp is not only lighter than a tent, but it is larger and easy to set up. We've been wondering if maybe using a tarp would be better.

What type of shield would a western knight carry during the third crusade?
Q. The time of the Third Crusade, being the end of the 12th century, was a period of transitional armor. This extended to shields. While the Norman kite shield had been the shield of choice for a warrior for over a hundred years and the heater shield would become the shield of choice in roughly fifty years what would be most common for a knight during the Third Crusade? Bonus for any period artwork from manuscripts, tapestries, or tombs that show a shield from that era.

A. It was an intermediary design, basically a long heater though some still had rounded tops. The Osprey Men-at-arms series has a lot of books dealing with the middle ages. I'm not sure what you mean by transition as that label is better used for the 14th century when maille and coat of plates started giving way to plate which would eventually dominate armour types for the rest of the middle ages. Check this link for a book on it. Some of the pages from the book are shown and might be of some help. Just scroll down once the page loads to see what's there.

A therapy dog is trained, tested, registered and insured so that it will be invited to visit folks in hospitals and nursing homes to cheer them up. Puppies also cannot be therapy dogs because dogs must be at least a year old to take the test. Why would a merciful God design humans to biologically be just another species of filthy animals?
Q. Humans have always been sick and tired of being biologically similar to all those stupid beasts running around. If there really is a creator, then why couldn't he have made us in a way that we could be classified in a dignified taxonomic kingdom of our own? Surely we deserve better than that.

Q. The Cavs went 66-16 and swept their way to the conference finals with only one superstar and a mediocre bench in 2009. The Heat have the Big 3, a better bench, and a better coach(Spoelstra is Riley's puppet). I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat have a perfect season.
